Welcome

Stanley Park High School is an increasingly popular 11-19 mixed comprehensive that is assured of a bright and successful future. It is a school that has a distinct ethos that emphasises achievement through a considerable range of curriculum experiences and the nurturing of individuals that are well prepared for life beyond school.

The over-riding expectation of all those associated with the Stanley Park High School community is that achievement and success is the norm. We challenge our students to reach this expectation by having:

  • Nationally recognised curriculum initiatives on which other schools seek our advice and guidance to try and replicate.
  • Talented and experienced staff that ensure the quality of learning and teaching is well-known by Universities and Teacher Training Institutions. Annually they seek our assistance in educating the next generation of teachers and hence we hold Training School status.
  • Extra curricular opportunities, including cultural visits at home and abroad.

Our philosophy is that children learn well if learning is meaningful and motivating. Consequently, it must allow students appropriate opportunities to be independent, creative and engage in productive dialogue. Also, we believe that learning is enhanced by ensuring that it has a real-life context and is outcome orientated.

This philosophy is supported by the extensive recent redevelopment of our existing learning environments and our plans for our brand new 'State of the Art' school that will open in September 2010 on a fantastic new site. We believe a Stanley Park High School student will be:
